Life and debt

Yesterday, we saw the movie “life and debt” the film about economic and social condition in Jamaica. Also, its mention about IMF (international monetary Fund), world bank globalization. We saw in the movie that lots of tourist are enjoy scenario of Jamaica but they don’t know how situation inside Jamaican people is.

    I thought it was interesting how only one group of people decided to see the neighborhoods outside of the hotels. Even though they were experiencing what Jamaica was like, they were still acting ignorant towards their lifestyle and culture!

    Bina, what is the relationship as you understand it between the IMF and World Bank (which are organizations) and globalization (which is a philosophy)?
